The end of the summer is nigh. There are worse ways to cap the season than bopping in a nineteenth-century fort.
In a setting whose intact heritage would make the National Trust swoon, a different kind of underground descends on the semi-subterranean network of tunnels, pits and a moat.
Across six stages electronic icons converge for five scintillating days, ranging from Ben Klock to Bicep and Pearson Sound to Paranoid London.
Next to the arena is a beach and turquoise shallows with a tree-shaded campsite that is actually a campsite, with restaurants and concrete showers included.
If that weren’t enough, the opening concert in a fully functional Roman amphitheatre features Four Tet and Floating Points, while the likes of Space Dimension Controllor and Mala take boat parties for a spin across the Adriatic.
