Introducing: Obongjayar

Who would have thought that a native of Norwich would be responsible for some of the most stirring London-centric music to emerge this year?

Now living in the Big Smoke but with his youth also spent in both Norwich and Nigeria, Obongjayar’s attention grabbing voice blurs the lines between spoken word, grime and hip-hop in a unique way on recently released track Creeping.

The lo-fi video for Creeping, directed by Frank Lebon, the brother of Tyrone who was responsible for Frank Ocean’s Nikes, successfully captures the rawness of Obongjayar’s delivery, and has unsurprisingly pricked the eyes of fellow DIY practitioner King Krule.

Check the video for Creeping below, and you can cop it over here.
