New Zealander Sola Rosa, makes an addition to his vast collection of work.
With seven full-length albums, four EPs, a handful of hits, countless collaborations, it’s easy to give him the titles of ‘prolific’ and an ‘enduring’ artists. A near 20-year labour of love for the man behind the music, Andrew Spraggon.
Sola Rosa has been pushing and evolving his original blend of genres, combining hip-hop, jazz, neo-soul, latin and funk.
Tomorrow he releases new single Leave A Light On – an effortlessly cool and soulful track that makes way for the upcoming release, In Spaces (out 18th May). The song features British singer Kevin Mark Trail of The Streets, Let’s Move things Forward and the unmistakable voice of Kiwi powerhouse, L.A. Mitchell.
In Sola Rosa’s own words: “Leave A Light On was written and recorded in my home studio in Auckland over a previous summer by myself and keyboard don Michal Martyniuk (Nathan Haines) with electric bass and guitar added by local legends Matt Short and Dixon Nacey. I love this track for Kevin’s mantra-like vocals and L.A. Mitchells celestial chorus. There’s an effortless charm to it, a simplicity.”
