Having been bubbling on the UK’s underground since 2013 or so as a unit but active well before that in different guises, Voodoo Black are set to release their debut album on the Village Live label.
Hailing from the fertile Manchester hip hop and bass music scene, Ellis Meade, Dubbul O, Sparkz and Cutterz have gained fans and recognition through their collaborations through super crews such as The Mouse Outfit and Levelz, and have been deeply involved with label Room 2 Records (where they released their first EP) and DJ collective/club night Taste The Diff’rence.
Never ones to stand still, all individual members of the crew are prolific artists who are now primed to deliver their first full length together.
Sitting At The Table is a huge tip of the hat to golden age hip-hop with an up to the minute slant, combining samples with live instrumentation. Guests on the album include Layfullstop, EVABEE, Leaf Dog and Jehst.
The full album sees release on 27 March as limited edition white vinyl, standard black vinyl and on digital formats. The pre-order will be live soon over at Village Live Records.
