Earlier in the month, Toronto’s jazz trio BADBADNOTGOOD and Ghostface Killah – who are soon set to release their collaborative project, Sour Soul – premiered the super lax Ray Gun, which also featured rapping from MF DOOM.
Now, it is accompanyed by this video. Ghostface’s raw edge beside that of DOOM’s famously unconventional flow, Ray Gun makes BADBADNOTGOOD’S lounge jazz hodgepodge the most splendid backdrop to this fittingly retro video. In conversation with Rolling Stone, BBNG’s Alexander Sowinski spoke of a video that ‘instantly transports you into a bizarre retro-futurist world as “the Mask” learns the rules of our planet and how they differ from his own.’
Sour Soul is available February 17th via Lex Records.
