A 7 day Mo’Wax residency is coming to the Jazz Café

To daydream and let your mind wander, to think up fantasies high-hoped and out of control, but often never to be realised can be dangerous. So to let Mo’Wax founder, James Lavelle do exactly that and bring it to fruition, as the Jazz Café have done, is something we could only dream of.

Honouring 25 years of the prestigious British label, they have curated a week of shows to celebrate all that Lavelle has achieved since 1992. Commencing on Friday 15th September and running till Thursday 21st September the Camden Café will host a variety of artists affiliated with the label and who exhibit Mo’Wax’s varied and uncompromising back catalogue.

For the opening night Lavelle has invited Attica Blues, Elliott Power, Mink and Thinkpiece for a label showcase. Saturday is a special electronic double headliner with Ninja Tune’s Dorian Concept and Border Community’s Luke Abbott. A stand out night for us being Monday 18th with a string tribute to one of the greatest song writers and Mo’Wax releases, David Axelrod. Wrapping up the week will be live performances from UK soul stars, hip-hop legends and member of Jazz Café royalty Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry.

Check the full residency below and for more information and tickets head to the Jazz Café website.
