Steven Ellison, better known to the masses as Flying Lotus, exploits his directorial talents in collaboration with David Lynch to announce new album Flamagra – see the video below.The project, due out on 24th May, comes out in a variety of formats, including gatefold pop-up limited coloured vinyl.
Ellison’s been busy building the concept since You’re Dead! was released half a decade ago – the album will feature Anderson .Paak, George Clinton, Little Dragon, Tierra Whack, Denzel Curry, David Lynch, Shabazz Palaces, Thundercat, Toro y Moi and Solange, who’ve all taken the plunge to accompany Lotus on his newest cosmic journey.
“I’d always had this thematic idea in mind—a lingering concept about fire, an eternal flame sitting on a hill,” he says. “Some people love it, some people hate it. Some people would go on dates there and some people would burn love letters in the fire.”
