Premiering on Bonafide today is the excellent first single from Me and My Friends’ eponymous forthcoming album.
Before I Saw The Sea is low-slung and lazily grooved. It’s both celebratory and wistful in equal measure. This is thanks to singer and songwriter Nick Rasle’s, velvet ‘honey-dipped’ rasp resulting in a bitter-sweet reflection on the pandemic era of the last 2 years. “This is a record made to accompany journeys when none could be made, as we awaited the parting of the stormy clouds “
Thus Me and My Friends have received plauditry from the wider music press, and rightly so.
