Stones Throw release new Quasimoto 12″ on limited edition 45-rpm vinyl

When it comes to cult icons, you can’t look much further than Madlib and his Lord Quas project.

Following on from last year’s Yessir Whatever, Stones Throw have announced a limited 45-rpm picture disc, with album track Planned Attack covering the A-side, and unreleased Talkin’ Shit on the reverse. It’s not just the music that makes this a collectible however; the release comes in the form of a custom-shaped vinyl, half picture disc of the delectable yellow monster, half clear disc of its x-ray, with artwork by the inimitable Jeff Jank to boot.

As way of a prologue to the release, Stones Throw have offered the following:

On the crime-infested east side of Lost Gates CA, there is a vinyl pressing plant whose brochure says, “will do anything for a price.” Back in the ’70s & ’80s, they specialized in private press porno soundtracks, but these days Madlib is their only customer.
