The Week in Beats: J Rocc, Ghostface Killah and A$AP Rocky

The internet is a daunting place at the best of times, and when it comes to music there’s a never ending rabbit hole of mixes, remixes, tracks, mixtapes and videos being uploaded on the daily. It’s physically impossible to be able to digest everything that is throw into the public consciousness, so we’ve taken time out to handpick the six freshest beats we’ve heard this week to make your life a bit easier. Kick back and enjoy them over the weekend.

J. Rocc x Nas & AZ – Life’s A Bitch (Super Blast Remix)
Legendary producer and founder of Beat Junkies, J. Rocc just put out this “super blast” edit of the Nas classic, Life’s A Bitch featuring AZ, adding a raw melodic richness to it. The track is coming soon on Beats On Tap(E) 2.

Cadenza – Foundation ft. Stylo G, Busy Signal
Cadenza is a cat we’ve been keeping our eye on for a minute at Bonafide, and he’s only gone and teamed up with dancehall icons Stylo G and Busy Signal for Foundation, which is bound to get plenty of airplay during carnival season.

Adrian Younge & Ghostface Killah ft Raekwon & RZA – Return of the Savage
WU-TANG UNITE. Ghostface is back after his dalliance with BadBadNotGood for a new joint with Adrian Younge, RZA and Raekwon. A follow up to 2013’s Twelve Reasons to Die, Return of the Savage is the first taste of Ghost back on home turf. It’s only a snippet, but it sounds pretty on point to us.

Georgia Anne Muldrow – Great Blacks
The words on Georgia Anne Muldrow’s first album—produced entirely by Chris Keys—balances a beautiful delivery with brutal honesty. Her raps are the honest confessions of a mother who refuses to turn a blind eye to modern political and societal misdeeds that stem from ancestral wrong doings. “My sense of time intertwine with the Great Blacks…”

Nebraska – The Stoop
So much goodness from the guys at Mister Saturday Night once again. Founders Eamon and Justin tracked down Nebraska as he hadn’t released any music since his LP, and luckily, he responded by bring a steady stream of unreleased music. This track, freshly cut to wax, officially welcomes him into the Mister Saturday Night family.

A$AP Rocky – L$D (LOVE x $EX x DREAMS)
The pretty flacko is back. This little taster from new album At. Long. Last. ASAP is the equivalent of necking three tubes of Rainbow Dust in the school playground and then being spun around in circles a bunch. It’s not like the A$AP that we’re used to hearing, but that video is a thing of beauty. Enter The Void eat your heart out.
