The Koreatown Oddity, whose album on Stones Throw continues to receive plaudits as more discover its intense and addictive origin story for the artist, releases a video for the searingly melancholic No Llores (‘Don’t Cry’ in Spanish).
Ross Harris directs and the video was shot in Los Angeles’ MacArthur Park, which KO describes as “one of those spots in LA that me and the homies growin up know as Grimey & Beautiful. I wanted to capture that feeling of the song and the park at the same time.” Features on the track come from Trenttruce, Emmanuel Coto and Édule.
Ross Harris adds: “[MacArthur Park] is the heart of the Central American community and the front lines of the pandemic in our city. The death cult of capitalism has thrown everything at this neighborhood and it just adapts and keeps it moving.”
The autobiographical album, Little Dominiques Nosebleed, is well worth your time – download it over on Bandcamp and Stones Throw, as both vinyl pressings are currently sold out.
