Watch the trailer for Flying Lotus’ feature film, Kuso

Brainfeeder Films is due to release their feature length Kuso at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival. Created by Steven Ellis, aka Flying Lotus, co-written with David Firth and Zach Fox and produced by Eddie Alcazar, Kuso centres around LA in the bizarre aftermath of an apocalyptic earthquake. Watch the trailer that has just been released in all its surreal, gory epic-ness.

The film is studded with underground comedians like Hannibal Burress, Anders Holmes and Tim Heidecker, along with Funkadelic bossman George Clinton. The score will be packed with original music from FlyLo (and his rap persona Captain Murphy), Aphex Twin, Thundercat, and the Japanese video game composer Akira Yamoaka of Silent Hill.

When a musician crosses over to other entertainment disciplines, fans often look at the venture with a raised eyebrow. But in this case, Flylo’s label Brainfeeder and the many up-and-coming artists he championed (from Teebs and Thundercat to the latest, Kamasi Washington), along with the short films he’s released prior to Kuso, assures us that his vision will be nothing short of spectacular.
